Extra Credit: Reflecting on 9th grade English

i didnt really have a favorite assignment but i thought that reading all the books was fun. oh wait i thought the slide show (or video) thing was fun. but i think we should have written more essay type things, might seem weird but i like essays waaaayyy better than the five part paragraphs. im glad that we didnt do much DGP or whatever. working with partners is fun. my least favorite assignment would probably be writing all those five part paragraphs and so other stuff i cant remember. otherwise it was pretty fun :]

Winter/Summer

Now that is super hot all of the sudden i kinda wish it was winter again... snow is fun but so are bikinis :D

O Brother, Where Art Thou

i think my favorite part of the movie is when they sing the song. i thought it was cool that the song became popular. the tune is catchy. when they first sang the song the guy that was recording them was really weird too and he made the scene more interesting. i kind of liked the whole movie but i dont really like george clooney but he was funny.

Romeo and juliet: Video Post Blair + Nate

Blair + Nate from Gossip Girl. i thought these two were like romeo and juliet because they are star-crossed lovers. they are what to be together forever (i hope) but things are always coming up between them.

i thought that this was like romeo and juliet beacause it is like when they first meet or when her comes into teh garden for the first time. the only thing about it
is the guy has a mullet....romeo doesnt have a mullet..but it looks like theyre in love.

Romeo and Juliet: Act Two

i thought that the second scene of act 2 was interesting because romeo decides to climb the wall into the calulet's garden to try and find juliet. he just happens to end up right under her window and he finds that she is there on her balcony. he speaks even though she cant hear him then her hears her talk about how much she loves romeo. in the end juliet finds out romeo is there and they decide toget married the next day. it effects the future of romeo and juliet because they tell each other that they love eachother and they get married.
i have never really been in a situation like this because it would probably never happen to anyone now a day. if i was in this situation i probably would have been more shy about every thing. i would have just listened and agreed a lot. i probably would have ended up saying yes to getting married. i know it would be really hard to stay away from someone that you love a lot but i think that romeo should have waited till morning ot see juliet.

Characters in Romeo and Juliet

i think lady capulet is a snob. she doesnt really know her daughter and is awkward to her. she seems like she doesnt really care for her daughter at all and she only wants juliet to go married. i think that all she wants to do id have fun and not have a lot of responsibilities. lady capulet is still pretty young and she doesnt want to be in charge of raising her daughter.
i think that lady capulet has blond hair and is tall-ish. she wears nice expensive clothes and she spends a lot of time getting ready and looking pretty. if i met her i think she would be nice and kind of a suck up if i were some famous rich person. if i was a normal person or someone of a lower rank than her i think she wouldnt bother talking to me or sneer at me.
i really cant think of anyone i know who is like her.

Shakespear

at the beginning of the movie it was kinda hard to hard to understand what the characters were getting at. the more we watched it the more i got what they were saying. having everything acted out in a movie was really helpful. the way they say things was pretty confusing but i think watching the movie before reading the book was a good thing. i really like where the movie was set. it was so european and green. =) and the flowers were pretty.

im kind of looking forward to reading shakespear except not with the class. i dont really know much about romeo and juliet except that it was written by shakespear a really long time ago and its really famous. really really really. im wondering what it will be like as a play. i think it would be better as a book. Were gonna be spending 2 MONTHS reading one book?

The Worst Part of Animal Farm

i think one of the saddest parts in animal farm was when a lot of the animals were killed. i guess napoleon saw that it was right but they probably werent in league with snowball and shouldnt have been murdered like that. also when napoleon supposedly sends boxer to the hospital but actually sends him to the butcher. i dont
think that was really necessary.

i think that napoleon shoud have been run out by the dogs. the other animals should have cared more about what was happening with them.

Animal Farm Freewrite

i think that Animal Farm has some interesting characters. i dont think that snowball did anything wrong and that he did a better job at "leading" the animals on the farm than napoleon. I think that the farm will eventually come to an end like the humans thought just not so horribly. the animal will probably all be killed due to confessions and only some of the pigs and the scary dogs will live.
im not sure i really like anything about the book so far except the beginning because everything was more organized then. im wondering when Moses the raven will ever appear again and if boxer is killed. I think that the cat will eventually do something significant in the book, maybe he/she (dont remember which) will try to save the animals or something. the meanings behind the characters i think is clever, like the pigs and how all the characters are like some person in the russian revolution. i dont think the book will have that happy of an ending.
